Novalja is highly associated with all traffic routes. Ferry lines PRIZNA – ZIGLJEN, which is only four kilometers away from Novalja, works all year, and during the summer Jadrolinija, as the ship-owner, sails all day, every hour, if needed, without interruption if necessary. The ride takes about ten minutes.

Pag on the south side is linked to the mainland via the bridge of Pag. That direction of arrival on the island is used for connection to the highway Zagreb - Split, popularly called DALMATINA. On the same line, next to the highway, only 70 km from Novalja, Airport Zadar is located.

The town has built a modern bus station with parking for buses and connections with the local Center City bus line.

There is a fast and comfortable catamaran line Jadrolinija, which is subsidized from the program of incentives for the development of the island, so boat ticket per person is only 40,- KN.

Throughout the year, especially during the summer, a number of taxi services operate in Novalja.

On the northern side of the island, the local ship line for Rab goes from Lun drives on a daily basis.
